The Hospice opened in 1985 and has grown to provide an extensive range of clinical expertise in specialist palliative care. The Hospice is recognised as, and has an Important role in palliative care provision in South East England.
The clinical team comprises doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplain, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and complementary therapists. They also have access to other professionals outside the Hospice and their work is complemented by specially selected volunteers.
